This collection of songs was recorded in Anguilla, British West Indies, in February 2026, following four months of preparation. The project was conceived as a collaborative effort between a U.S.-based artist and Anguillan musicians, serving as a model for future partnerships at AMA Recording Studio while helping promote the nonprofit AMA Center on the island.

Another Place
Songs tend to fall into familiar categories—love songs, protest songs, stream-of-consciousness pieces, and more. When I was younger, it felt like love songs were all I could write, which makes sense in hindsight. I’ve generally avoided protest songs, as they often feel tied to a specific moment in time. Over the years, my love songs have evolved—less about idealized hope and more about the lived experience of life itself.
I see my past in a positive light, and each day brings something new to draw from—things I hear, see, and feel. This song, in particular, is shaped by the music I’ve loved, blended with memory and the warmth of summer. I’m drawn to those quiet, cinematic moments—music drifting down a street from somewhere unseen, the pull of something mysterious just out of reach.
Sometimes writing a song feels like writing a screenplay for a film that only I can see. Maybe, in some way, you can see it too.
