This week is full of preproduction for a new CD. I have songs that were written on the road in Europe and songs that I have written around Fort Collins over the years that I'm searching for and goofing around with. Today I came across 3 songs that I had totally forgotten about and really glad that I found. The recording process will be the same as my current CD, Sing It Louder. That CD was recorded with 2 microphones in a room. Picture a a pair of ears in front of a couple of guys hearing everything that is going on. That is how it used to be done way back in the day with the big bands, and it still works to this day. What you hear doesn't involve any additional track recordings or fixes. It is what it is. While I was digging around for tunes, I came across some songs that were recorded mostly in my basement and some in an empty office building that a buddy let us use for a month. It's mostly Atoll guys and other friends like Sheela Bringi that performed in our stage prduction, Turtle Island, a few years back. These songs have nothing to do with what I do now, but I thought it might be interesting for you to hear what I was doing 10 years ago so you can compare it to what is happening now. If you don't have the current CD you can come to a show or check it out on Amazon or iTunes. Feel free to snag these tunes if you like them and of course be sure and let me know if you don't like them. That's always good to hear! Thanks!
